Alice Cooper Milwaukee Concert reviews
Excellent show - Suspect venue
This was my first opportunity to see Alice Cooper perform in person after being a BIG fan for many years. The music selected for each set was tremendous - all pieces were composed to be performed by the "New Blood Orchestra". No one could argue with the songs that were selected; it was certain that some favorites would be left off.
The main drawback for this concert had nothing to do with Alice Cooper. Unfortunately, there is not much you can do to dial up the volume on strings and woodwinds. It was clear that this was annoying Mr. Cooper. The problem fell to the characteristics of Summerfest. The concert was held in the Marcus Amphitheater set along Lake Michigan. For some reason, they have decided to cover as much of the grounds with music stages as possible. Normally I would say that this is a good idea, but not when you place a stage directly below the venue for your feature act. Crank up the volume on some smaller act, and all it does is take away from the main performance.
This was a GREAT show, and I was glad to have seen Alice Cooper perform in person! I don't think I will be going back to Summerfest again any time soon.
